Strength is Medicine
Muscle is not decoration. It is metabolic tissue, structural insurance, and one of the strongest predictors of how the next thirty years will go. Training for strength is preventive care.
Resistance training improves bone density, glucose regulation, balance, and confidence in the body. In adults over forty it is the closest thing we have to a broad-spectrum intervention, and the evidence holds well into the eighties and nineties. The goal is never how you look under a stage light. It is the ability to lift, carry, climb, catch yourself, and keep doing the things that make life yours.
