Ipamorelin is a synthetic five-amino-acid peptide known as a growth hormone secretagogue.

Rather than supplying growth hormone directly, ipamorelin interacts with the growth hormone secretagogue receptor, also known as the ghrelin receptor, and can stimulate the pituitary gland to release growth hormone.

Ipamorelin is frequently discussed in wellness, recovery, body-composition and healthy-aging communities, but those popular uses extend beyond the strength of current clinical evidence.

FDA has also noted serious adverse events reported in clinical development involving intravenous administration, although available clinical safety information remains limited.

Ipamorelin should not be described as proven safe simply because it is widely marketed.
