Greek Yogurt Protein Breakfast

A fast, high-protein breakfast with Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, and simple toppings for busy mornings.

Glass bowl of Greek yogurt topped with blueberries, raspberries, sliced banana, chia seeds, almonds and cinnamon

Some mornings you do not have twenty minutes, and that is exactly when breakfast tends to get skipped.

This one takes five minutes, needs no cooking, and still lands close to thirty grams of protein.

Fruit brings the sweetness, so there is no need for flavoured yogurt or added sugar.

  4. 4Finish with cinnamon and eat right away, or cover and refrigerate overnight so the chia softens.

Simple Substitutions & Variations

  • Add the optional protein powder to push protein toward 40 g.
  • Use skyr or low-fat cottage cheese in place of Greek yogurt.
  • Dairy-free? A high-protein soy yogurt is the closest substitute.
  • Frozen berries work fine and are usually cheaper. Let them sit a few minutes to soften.
  • Assemble it in a jar the night before for a genuine grab-and-go breakfast.

Vince’s Take

“This is my backup plan, and everybody needs one. When the morning gets away from me, this is still a real breakfast.

Buy plain yogurt and sweeten it with fruit. The flavoured tubs can carry as much sugar as a dessert, and you will not miss it once you adjust.

It is also the easiest place to add protein powder if you are trying to hit a higher daily target without adding another meal.”
